### Step 1: Content Type

Begin by selecting the type of content you want to automate. In this guide, we’ll focus on automating News Articles.

### Step 2: Choose a Source Type

<figure><img src="/files/rElzT7Eaab1ImZ64UC94" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Next, decide which type of source you want to monitor:

* **Topic (Most Popular)**: Choose from an extensive list of topics. If your specific topic isn’t available, you can easily import it from Google News.
* **Publication**: Monitor news or blog posts from a specific site, provided that site has a Google News page.

### Step 3: Choose a Source

<figure><img src="/files/U15zuCMK4d9KruxSDKc2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Select a topic or publication from our extensive library to monitor and stay updated with. If you can’t find a particular topic or publication, click the "**+ Add Topic/Publication**" button in the top right corner and add the Google News token for that specific topic or publication.

{% hint style="info" %}
**How to get the topic or publication token**

The token can be found in the Google News topic’s page URL. For example, in the URL below, the topic token is highlighted:

[https://news.google.com/topics/**CAAqIggKIhxDQkFTRHdvSkwyMHZNRGxqTjNjd0VnSmxiaWdBUAE**?hl=en-US\&gl=US\&ceid=US%3Aen](https://news.google.com/topics/CAAqIggKIhxDQkFTRHdvSkwyMHZNRGxqTjNjd0VnSmxiaWdBUAE?hl=en-US\&gl=US\&ceid=US%3Aen)
{% endhint %}

### Step 4: Schedule

<figure><img src="/files/mOl5I4JJS3QkuMiVNTYp" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Decide how often you want the automation to run, the specific times, and the number of news stories to cover in each run.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Example scenario**

Let's say you chose "Cryptocurrency" as your topic, and scheduled it in the following way:

* Timezone: Europe/London
* Start date: 8/14/2024 @8:00 AM
* End date: 8/20/2024 @ 8:00 AM
* Frequency: Daily
* Number of recent stories to cover: 3

In this case, Mavis AI would search for the latest cryptocurrency stories every day at 8:00 AM (London time) during the specified period and generate three news articles covering the three most recent trending stories.
{% endhint %}

### Step 5: Article Settings

<figure><img src="/files/VD2LrjoHbJEK3z6LsuD2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Customize the tone of voice, language and length of your article, as well as the style of the cover image (AI generated).

Choose from 37+ tones of voice, 30 languages and two article lengths:

While all images are currently AI-generated, we will soon offer the option to automatically include real editorial images relevant to the news stories being covered. We’ll beta test this feature with a select group of users. If you’d like early access to this beta, please [get in touch](https://www.heymavis.ai/contact) and share your use case.

### Step 6: Publishing (Optional)

<figure><img src="/files/WiM4Lai6P1GQCMXh4ctx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Before saving your new automation, you can choose to automatically publish each news article to your site as soon as it’s generated. Currently, Mavis AI supports publishing to **WordPress** and **Medium**, with more integrations coming soon.

If you select "None," the articles will appear in your Mavis AI dashboard for your review, but they won’t be published to any site. You can manually publish them after reviewing.
